Survival Was Just the Beginning. Healing Was the Choice.

Peggy McGeary is an author, playwright, and trauma-recovery advocate whose life story challenges everything we think we know about healing, time, and resilience.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Peggy began writing at the age of eleven as a way to cope with a childhood marked by severe abuse and silence. Her early love of poetry became a lifeline during years when she had no safe outlet to express her experiences.

She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Barry University and worked as a caseworker at Chicago’s Cabrini-Green Housing Project during a time of intense social and political unrest. This experience deepened her understanding of trauma, both personal and systemic.

Her play Can You See Daylight? earned her two prestigious fellowships, affirming her talent and commitment to storytelling.

Peggy has been sober for nearly four decades. However, it wasn’t until later in life—through trauma therapy—that she began to truly heal. Confronting buried memories allowed her to release long-held pain and reclaim her sense of self.

In addition to writing, Peggy has worked as a psychic medium for over forty-eight years, offering insight and connection to others on their journeys.

Her mission is simple but powerful: to break the silence, validate survivors, and remind people everywhere that it is never too late to heal.
